Connect an AI assistant

Let an AI tool like Claude or ChatGPT read and help with your website - safely, and only with the access you allow.

Do this

  1. Open Settings → Advanced → Developers.
  2. Press Connect.
  3. Give it a name (e.g. "Claude on my laptop") and pick what it can do.
  4. Choose whether it covers this website or all your websites.
  5. For Claude or ChatGPT, sign in when asked. For Claude Code, Cursor or Codex, copy the one-time key shown - it's shown once, so store it safely.
  6. Paste the connection details into your AI tool.

What happens next: the tool appears in the list with its name, what it may do, and when it was last used. It only does what you allowed, and you can switch it off straight away. From that moment it can no longer reach your website.

What this is

You can connect an AI assistant - like Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor or Codex - to your website. Once connected, the assistant can understand your business and your website, and help you make changes by talking to it in plain language. It does only what you allow, and you can turn the access off at any time.

This lives under Settings → Advanced → Developers. It's an optional power-user feature - you never need it to use SnabbSajt normally.

When to use it

Connect an assistant if you already use an AI tool and want it to help with your website - for example "add a frequently-asked-questions section", "tidy up my opening hours", or "what changed since I last published?". If you don't use those tools, you can ignore this page.

Let SnabbSajt use your own tool

If you have a secure MCP address for a booking system, CRM, or another tool, the owner can add it under Settings → Advanced → AI integrations → Custom connections. This experimental section is shown only when it has been enabled for your account.

  1. Enter a name and an https:// address.
  2. Sign in to the tool in the window that opens.
  3. Review its tools and test the connection. Only clearly read-only tools can be enabled in this version.
  4. Save the connection after the test succeeds.
  5. When SnabbSajt wants to read something, you see the exact tool and details and approve that one call. There is no "always allow".

New or changed tools stay blocked until you review them again. You can pause, rescan, reconnect, or disconnect. Pausing revokes the saved sign-in, so reconnect before enabling it again. Use only an address from someone you trust: external tool content is treated as unverified information and can never approve an action for you.

If the tool asks for more access later, SnabbSajt stops the call and asks you to sign in again. It never expands access in the background.

What the assistant can do

You choose this when you connect, with a simple set of permissions:

  • View - read your business details, pages and draft.
  • Edit - also change your draft (text, sections, page settings). Changes are private until you publish, so nothing reaches the public website by surprise.
  • Publish - also push your draft live. Off by default.
  • Generate images - also create images for your website, in your brand's style, straight into your image library. This uses your AI credits, so it's off by default. Writing text doesn't need this: the assistant writes words itself, and that costs you nothing.
  • Read contacts - also read your leads, bookings and contacts. This is personal data, so it's off by default. If someone gave you access to this account and switched an area off for you, the assistant cannot reach it either - a connection never gets past a limit you do not have yourself.
  • Manage contacts - also tidy them up: mark one handled, change its status, add a private note. It can never delete anything, never change a customer's email address, and never send the customer a message. Off by default.
  • Change settings - also update business and website settings (for example search visibility). Off by default.
  • See web address - also see which web addresses are connected and whether they're ready or still waiting on something. Read-only: it cannot change any address. This is enough if you just want to ask "is my address live yet?". Off by default.
  • Manage web address - also connect a web address you already own and choose which one is your main address. It can never buy, renew or remove an address. Only you as the owner can use this, even if you've shared the website with someone. Off by default.
  • Manage services - also create and update the services in your draft. Off by default.
  • Create websites and companies - also start a brand new, empty website, or set up another company. A new website is a draft nobody can see until you publish it. Creating a company you always approve yourself first, and you see the name before you do - a new company starts with no plan, no credits and no website, and nothing is charged to your card. Off by default.
  • Invite people - also invite someone to help with your website, as an editor or as read-only. You always approve each invitation yourself first, and you see the exact email address and level before you do. Nobody can be made owner, and nobody's existing access is changed or removed. Only you as the owner can use this. Off by default.

A new connection starts with View + Edit only. Publishing, spending credits, reading customer info and touching your web addresses are always deliberate opt-ins.

Expected result

Your connected tool appears in the list with its name, what it can do, and when it was last used. Recent actions show in the Activity list below. You can rename it, change its permissions, or turn it off instantly - the moment you do, it can no longer reach your website.

Common issues

  • I lost the key. Keys are shown only once for safety. Turn the old connection off and create a new one.
  • Claude/ChatGPT asks me to sign in. That's expected - they connect by signing in, not by pasting a key.
  • The assistant says it can't do something. It only has the permissions you granted. Open the connection and turn on what it needs (for example Publish or Customer info).
