Create your first website
The two ways to start, and what SnabbSajt builds for you from a few plain words.
Do this
- Answer one question in plain words: what does your business do? For example, "I'm a hairdresser in Malmö".
- Read the We are working from these assumptions summary and correct any row that is not right.
- Pick a visual look. Each one is a live preview of your own website, one is tagged Recommended, and you can change it later.
- Choose a direction: three takes on how your own page can look, with different colours, type and layout. None of them locks you in. You can change everything afterwards.
- SnabbSajt builds a finished website from your answer. Edit anything on it.
What happens next: the website is a private draft. Nothing is public until you publish, and you can keep editing for as long as you like.
Two ways to start
You can begin in either of two ways:
- Signed in. When you create an account, a short setup guide walks you through a few questions about your business.
- Without an account. You can also try it straight away from the quick start - answer one question and watch a website appear, before you sign up for anything.
Either way, the only thing you really need to answer is: what does your business do? Write it in plain words, the way you'd tell a customer - for example, "I'm a hairdresser in Malmö" or "We clean offices in Gothenburg."
If you start from a template, you go straight to a short review. You can write a plain description in the optional box and press Fill in details. SnabbSajt fills only blank fields. A name, town, or other answer you already entered stays unchanged.
Faster: fill in your organisation number
When you are signed in, the first question also has an Organisation number (optional) field above the business name. Type the number, press Fetch, and SnabbSajt looks it up in the EU's official VAT register and fills in the registered company name, the address, and the town for you. It also suggests what kind of business you are, from the company name. You confirm or change that on the next question, and one tap is enough.
It is optional, and it stays optional. If you have no organisation number, if the number finds nothing, or if you simply do not want to use it, type your business name and carry on. Nothing is greyed out and nothing is skipped.
Anything you have already typed is never overwritten. If you wrote your business name first, that name is kept and only the address and the number are filled in, because the trading name you use with customers is usually not the one in the register.
What you get back
From that one answer, SnabbSajt builds a finished website for you - several ready-made sections with headings, text, and a layout that suit your trade. It is a real starting point, not a blank page you have to fill from scratch.
The kind of business you pick shapes that first draft: a dentist and a cleaning company start from different sections, wording, and example services.
During setup you also pick a visual look (clean, bold, elegant, and so on). Each look is shown as a real preview of your own website in that style, with your business name, your words, and your photos when you have added some, so you can see how it would turn out instead of reading a description. SnabbSajt suggests one from what you wrote and your trade, tagged Recommended, and you can change it in one tap. Tap More looks to see the rest. You can still change colours and fonts later under Appearance.
The guide also asks for your pictures and your logo, on the step called Add your pictures. Photos are optional. SnabbSajt uses matching stock imagery if you add none, and you can let AI make a picture instead. For the logo you get the same three choices you have later under Appearance: your initials as a simple mark in your colour, an AI symbol, or your own file. If you make one from your initials before you have picked a look, tap your shape again under Appearance afterwards and it is redrawn in the new colour.
Film, menus and folders
The box on the front page also takes a short film, a document or a zip folder, before you create an account. A document can be a PDF, a Word file (.docx or the older .doc), a Pages, Numbers or Keynote file from a Mac, an Excel or PowerPoint file, a LibreOffice file, or plain text (.txt, .md, .rtf, .csv). The same works inside the guide, at the Add your photos step: drop the film or the document where you drop your photos. Signed in, your own plan's limits apply, so a bigger plan allows a longer film.
The film goes on your website and helps SnabbSajt understand your business. If it is longer than a minute you choose which part to show. We rebuild the film on your phone before sending it, so it gets much smaller without looking worse. The sound is not carried over.
The document can be your menu or price list. We read the text and fill in services and prices in the draft, which you check before publishing. The file can also stay on your website as a download.
If we cannot read the text we keep the file anyway, so it still sits on your website as a download, and we tell you. That happens with a scanned picture of a menu, and with a Pages file saved without its preview.
The zip folder is unpacked for you. The pictures and documents inside are added as usual, so you do not have to drag in thirty photos one at a time.
The film is visible to everyone who visits your website. If you filmed customers or staff, ask them first.
Check what the first draft will use
Before SnabbSajt builds the website, you see a short We are working from these assumptions summary. It shows the customer group, services, goal and writing direction that will shape the first draft, plus any real price or opening hours you supplied. Each row says whether the detail came from you, an imported source, a Starter Kit or a suggestion.
You can edit every row before continuing. If a Starter Kit skipped a question, you can edit that value directly in the summary. The approved details stay with the website, so a later regeneration uses the same brief instead of guessing again.
Honest by design
The starting text is written to be safe to show. SnabbSajt uses neutral placeholders (like your business name and your town) and never makes up reviews, prices, certificates, or years of experience. Those are details only you can confirm, so you fill them in yourself.
Because of that, the setup guide offers - once, behind the link Tell us more about your business - to fill in one thing a customer actually said about you and one real price. Neither is required and neither is checked. But a single real sentence and a single real number are what separate a website that reads like yours from one that reads like anybody's, and they are the two things we are not allowed to invent for you.
What you write there is kept. The quote goes into the reviews section on your website - alongside your Google reviews if we found any, never instead of them - and the price lands on the service it names. If the price does not match any of your services, it is saved to what SnabbSajt remembers about your business (Settings → General → Contact details) so you can place it yourself, rather than quietly dropped.
Nothing is online yet. Your new website stays private until you choose to publish it.
Start from a website you already have
If you already have a website in SnabbSajt and want another one much like it - a second location, a second business, or a new client - you don't have to build it again. In your website list, open the ⋯ menu on the website's card and choose Duplicate.
You give the copy its own name straight away, and that name also decides its web address, so you don't have to rename it twice afterwards. The copy gets the same pages, sections, images and design, it stays unpublished until you publish it yourself, and the website you copied is left exactly as it was.
Next steps
- Edit text - change any words on the page.
- Add sections - add or remove building blocks.
- Appearance & brand - set your colours and logo.
- Publish your website - put it online.
